Just Female and Killing It
Disclaimer: "it" isn't people. Also I'm a white belt.
I just got back from my annual vacation across the world. This time it was Japan. Not only am I super jetlagged but my sleep cycle is also being wrecked by the odd times I have to get up for Ramadan. I have yet to really take in my tremendous trip as of yet. Needless to say, I am a hot mess currently. Though I'm always kind of a hot mess like when I have plenty of time to prep for a shoot. Flyaways everywhere, wrinkled shirts, chipped nails, unevenly applied lipstick, etc. Maybe it's a sign of how un-put together my life is. Maybe, these are the things I worry about as a female and I have stopped kinda caring. Well, kinda. Self-grooming is still important, but I'm not gonna worry about every nail and every piece of hair (the lipstick I should definitely reapply..).
I love bringing out the details in the simple things, which is why the permanent wing of the NC Museum of Art was a perfect backdrop for this outfit. Both exude the complexity behind minimalist and modern styles. This is why I've grown an interest an architecture and have started appreciated the fine structures and details that are added to buildings. It's how I've started approaching my outfits.
Just Female fits in perfectly with bringing the uniqueness of clean and simple styles. The idea behind it is one that bares the minimum of being female but still maintaining some femininity. While this top reminds me more of tae kwon do shirt, it's still feminine and chic. The wrap detail is a perfect little touch. Black and white makes it easy to add in a bit of color, case in point - the olive mules. Be ready for me to karate chop some gender stereotypes and jumping front kick some sexist dicks (let's face it I have to jump no matter what).
