A Metal Outfit That Comes Full Circle

Grommet up guys.

Sometimes I can't explain why I'm drawn to things.  It could be the most basic thing, but for me it stands out.  Kinda like how people react to abstract art.  You say, "Well I could have done that.  It's so easy." But did ya? Nope. That's how I feel about grommet.

Grommets, sometimes known as eyelets,  are basically metal hollowed circles. Usually hoodie strings go through these. Though, now I've noticed eyelets have lost the strings have become a detail piece. I don't usually venture outside of my box of geometrical straight lines and shapes, but I've come full circle.

I love finding tunic tops that can double as dresses for me.  Sometimes fit can be an issue, but a funnel neck and one statement detail really draws the attention somewhere else while elongating my torso.  Though, you can tell the height difference with this top with the way blogger Emma Hill wears it.  What drew me to this particular one was the oversized eyelet hardware that gave it more of a wrap detail. It's a stark contrast to the black and adds a nice contrast.  The asymmetrical hem detail is a nice touch and also pleases my love for straight cut lines.

Add my Sol Sona Clarice mules which are also covered in grommets, a white tee, and a camel beret to complete a minimalistic outfit of colors with a ton of metal. It was semi-casual and classic enough to walk around Tokyo to visit some of my Japanese coworkers and touring museums. This tan brick situation was the right amount of blending in and pop of black to complement this look.
