The Girl with the Pearl Choker Slips In Gold

Excuse the wrinkles, I need to learn how to iron better.

It takes me forever to hop onto certain trends. As I've said before, I have whole heartedly agreed to the bed-to-street style, except when it came to slip dresses. My new rule with clothing is analyzing how many times I'll actually wear something and then wait three days to make the purchase.  I would probably wear a slip dress once or twice and call it day with this dress. . However, Missguided gave me an opportunity in the sale section for me to try a petite sized dress in gold.

I liked the idea of "dripping in gold" and that's what this satin slip dress feels like. Adding a black duster jacket and a pearl choker were the perfect touches to add a little bit of pizzazz to this outfit.  Although, the black duster ends up looking more like a robe.  I guess it's a way to embrace the bed wear style even more.  What the pearl choker brings is an extra layer of class.  It's a nice statement piece that is both on trend and sophisticated.

I wrap up this look with a pair of lace up boot style heels. I call them ballerina-esque for the amount of effort that goes into lacing these babies up. Ballerina style shoes make me question how much effort and time I want to put in carefully lacing up my shoes and then worrying if they come undone most of the day. Usually, they are in the form of flats, and I'm a strong believer in never wearing the ballerina flats, but these were on sale at Zara.
