Hitting The Streets in Platform Slides

Slides? Check. Flatform? Check. Under $40? Check.

I don’t think the perfect pair of summer sandals could have come at a better time. Just in time for moderately warm autumn. Coconuts by Matisse introduced the Del Mar Slides this past summer, and they are the best for petite gals who want comfort and an extra inch of height to vacation in.

In September, I took a weekend trip to Washington, DC and hit the streets with these slides. There are only so many shoes you can take in one bag, and I opted to take one pair. I’m known for taking at least five pairs of shoes, so this is unheard of for me. The Del Mar slides are easy to walk in and the espadrille style is great for casual looks. I opted for street style in a tan tee with rope detail, mom jeans, and a bucket hat. Sticking to neutral shades, the color of the natural slides was bright and added vibrancy in tan.

I aim to add more platform sandals to my closet. They feel like a step stool that is attached to your feet and move with you. Why have I denied myself this luxury? I used to be against platform shoes because my mom would force me to wear them and they were just not my style. I finally understand my mom’s style after 15 years.

You can get the Del Mar Slides in natural, black, or cognac. I also have a black pair, which will be perfect for my upcoming trips to Puerto Rico, Spain, and Portugal. Maybe I should add the cognac ones too…
