Leather Edge + Floral Maxi

Skirting around the florals with the leather.

Floral patterns and leather is one of the best combinations to transition into fall with. It's a bit of soft spring warmth and rugged fall chills.  Somewhere in Auckland, NZ I ended up on black sand beaches, and this outfit seemed like the perfect amount of mystery and whimsy that I needed.

I'm channeling a dark bohemian look with a floral maxi skirt from Threadsence and this amazing Beaudry blouse from Aritzia.  The top is one of my favorites because it's conservatively flowy and has the perfect amount of pleats and crochet details. The white and black contrast is balanced with the softness in the florals and the details of the top.

I have a habit of using a leather jacket to tone down the volume of an outfit.  Whether it's with  jeans or a maxi skirt, a leather jacket seems like the perfect extra thing to add. I'm not big on jewelry, so the leather jacket is the perfect accessory when you feel like you're missing something.  This grey leather jacket especially brings out the color in the gray florals of the skirt to complement it.   Without the jacket, I have a shapeless outfit, but with the jacket, I have more of a line for my outfit to follow.
